A great time was had by all who attended this year’s barbecue at the Hiller on Sun. Oct. 18, 2015. Nearly 80 meals were served. The food was fantastic and included steak, salmon, chicken, shrimp, baked beans, potato and green salads, cold drinks and dessert. If you couldn’t make it this time, plan on attending next year. You’re sure to enjoy yourself.

Thanks to the Hiller Museum for allowing us to use their back patio and ramp display area, and to Adam Villa for all his assistance. Thanks to all the Bay Area weather forecasters who brought us a nice afternoon for our event, despite a few showers the day before.

Thanks to Kelly Hoffman for organizing the setup and cleanup crews. Thanks to Jon Hull and others whose names I didn’t catch, and to Cass Wilson for extra efforts on cleanup. Thanks to Jerry Grainger and Cass Wilson for patiently taking attendance at the door.

Jon Hull, Carolyn Chaney, and Curt Nehring prepared foods for grilling Saturday night; Don Sharp, Ken Steiner, Bruce Wallace, and Chris Zanette cooked our efforts to perfection on Sunday. The Sky Kitchen provided green salad and their famous potato salad. Curt Nehring brought baked beans. Carol Ford brought brownies for dessert, and Karen Morss donated lemonade from her Lemon Ladies Orchard.

Mike Mainiero arranged for our display aircraft. Tom Bria brought his V-tail Bonanza, Oliver Coolidge his Cessna 195, Tom Nolan his Glasair Sportsman, and Bill O’Connell his Swift. Joining Scott from Airport Operations, EAA20 members Mike Cunneen, Tom Nolan, Bob Davis, and I marshaled the aircraft safely to and from Hiller’s display ramp area.

Finally, thanks to all the SCAPA members who joined us to make this an enjoyable event!
