Well, its that time of year again and the Columbia Airport will be hosting its 51st Annual Fathers Day Fly In, Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18, 2017. This is our largest event of the year and planning has been underway for the past few months. We are excited to host the B-25 “Executive Sweet,” the Tiger Squadron, the Bay Bombers, the Gooney Bird Association (C-47, T-34, and FW 149), 2 Beech 18’s, Airplane/Car Races, Pancake Breakfasts, a Fly-In movie (Always), camping, Saturday Night dinner (Taco Bar and a Bring your own Tequila Margarita bar), various aviation and local area vendors, and a whole lot more. Youll be able to purchase rides on the B-25 and a Stearman as well as a handful of 172’s.

The county in no way profits off this event as it runs at a loss; however, the impact to the community is one that is immeasurable. So please, help support us by sending anyone you know who would enjoy this our way. I would like to also invite everyone on this forum to come out for the weekend (yes, its runs from Friday night June 16th until Sunday afternoon June 18th) and enjoy the airport, its surrounding area, and of course to aviation!

We will have a temporary FAA tower guiding traffic and NOTAMs will be up for the weekend as it is pretty busy.

I’m including this year’s flyer as an attachment, if you all could be so kind as to print it out and post it wherever you deem necessary we would really appreciate it. If any of you show up, please do so and look me up. It’s a great weekend and Im sure you ally will have a great time. Also, if you know of anyone with antique, WWII, or generally pretty cool aircraft that would like to fly during the event, have them give me a call directly and we can schedule them in. Certificates for aircraft display will also be available for anyone whos looking to get some of their 12 days out of the way.

Spread the word and Happy almost Friday!

Benny
