A great time was had by all who attended this year’s barbecue at the Hiller on Sunday Oct. 19, 2008. Over 100 meals were served, a record number in recent years. The food was fantastic, including steak, salmon, chicken, scallops, shrimp, beans and salad.

If you couldn’t make it this time, plan on attending next year. You’re sure to enjoy yourself.

Congratulations to Curt Nehring who coordinated the event and thanks to everyone who lent a hand, including the folks who displayed their aircraft and the crew who prepared the food, as well as everyone else who helped out, including the setup team and the cleanup group. We are especially grateful to Jeff Bass, Willie Turner, Lanie Agulay and Adam Villa at the Hiller Museum.

We’d like to thank our chefs, Frank Alaimo and Harris Rogers. They made our day. Frank also made some of the marinades, helped with day-before food preparation and overnight storage, and brought a large tray of macaroni and cheese as a side dish.

We’d also like to thank those who brought their airplanes for display: Tom Porter: Globe Swift, Robert Brodersen: Eclipse 500, Bob Bormann: Queen Air Dan Sauter: Navion, Bruce Whetstone: Express

And the EAA members who directed arrival and departure: Bob Davis, Hank Huddleston, George Mendonca, and Irwin Abrams

Some photos from the event are attached.

Thanks again and see you all next year!
