Carol Ford, President of the San Carlos Airport Association and Vice President of the California Pilots Association has been a leader in the fight against the placement of power plants near airports. It has been shown that these facilities generate hot air plumes that are dangerous to aircraft maneuvering close to the ground. Recently the FAA added a section on power plants to the AIIM.
