Webmaster’s Note: We are pleased to welcome the Skyway Center as our newest member and gladly accepted their request to post the following article on our web site.

In early 2022, new hangar space comes to San Carlos, with the opening of the Skyway Center. This premier, private aviation campus, offers almost 50,000 square feet of hangar space and over 20,000 square feet of office space. More than another T-Hangar, Skyway Center offers its members an “aviation lifestyle” as opposed to merely hangar storage. Featuring a dedicated Aviator’s Lounge, frequent members only social events, impeccable concierge service, and a home for the most discerning aircraft owners and their aircraft, are merely some of the benefits of Skyway Center.

Skyway Center offers three types of hangars – Private, Semi-Private, and Community. Named after famous aviatrixes, each hangar type offers members an experience that very few presently enjoy in the General Aviation community.

· Overlooking the runway, the three private hangars include white epoxy floors, white beams and wainscotting, and a well-appointed, private restroom. Members of the Private Hangars may move their aircraft themselves if desired, or have Skyway Center provide its aircraft valet service, by calling ahead to have their aircraft readied. In addition, members of the Private Hangars enjoy in hangar auto parking of their vehicles.

· Three Semi-private hangars house two to four aircraft depending on aircraft size and may be appointed with either the standard option with sealed concrete floors, or an upgrade option to the same finish package of the private hangars. Skyway Center can either match those desiring a semi-private hangar experience with other like-minded aviators, or a group of aviators with multiple planes can lease a Semi-Private hangar together.

· Three large community hangars offer spacious hangar accommodations with sealed concrete floors, aircraft and vehicle valet service, and use of all campus communal areas. Priced at $2.22/square foot monthly of an aircraft’s square footage index, popular aircraft types such as the Cirrus SR-22 is $2,251.08 per month, while a TBM 900 series aircraft is $3,436.56 a month. Able to accommodate the larger aircraft types operating at SQL, a Pilatus PC-12 series aircraft is $5,754.24 a month. · As Skyway Center is not an FBO but rather a private hangar campus, Rabbit Aviation Services will provide fuel for Skyway Center members.

As part of its community outreach and goals of aviation advancement, Skyway Center has committed up to $5,000 annually to Women in Aviation for aviation scholarship programs.
