We will begin with the business meeting of the San Carlos Airport Association and follow up with our guest speaker.
Our guest speaker will be Gary Shank, who is a retired Boeing 737 Captain with Delta Airlines. He will speak on WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT – Cruise to Touchdown.
This will be a fun and informative look at an airline pilot’s tips on managing tasks to make flying easier, safer and more fun. Topics include:
- Timing tasks to make flying more relaxing and fun
- Flight Planning
- Efficient task management
- Ground and in-flight tasks
- ATC communications
- Flows & Checklists
- Best practices for phases of flight
Gary flew Boeing, McDonnell-Douglas and Airbus airliners all over the world for over 30 years. He’s type rated in the Boeing 737, Airbus A-330, DC-9, CE-500, EMB-145, SA-227. Captain Schank instructed on the DC-9 for the airline and is also a CFII-MEI, a FAASTeam Representative, and an owner of a Bonanza A36. He has published aviation articles in international aviation magazines and has spoken at many aviation events, including EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Gary Schank is also a member of Flying Musicians Association and is a practicing attorney, as well as being a Vice President of the California Pilots Assocation.
