Our friends in the local EAA chapter invite SCAPA members to join the EAA meeting on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2011, at 7PM at the Hiller Museum, 601 Skyway Rd., San Carlos.

You are cordially invited to attend a 20-minute presentation by Mike Paull, an avid General Aviation pilot and retired dentist from San Carlos. Mike will discuss his new book, Tales from the Sky Kitchen Cafe. Tales from the Sky Kitchen Cafe is a collection of stories about some of the people that Mike met and got to know during his 20 years as a center-table, lunchtime “regular” at the Sky Kitchen Cafe at San Carlos Airport. Individuals profiled include Len Vinci, Phil Webster, Hap Halloran, Syl Heumann, Reid Dennis, Jeanne McElhatton, Norm DeWitt, Butch Pfeifer, Dave Morss, and Herb Foreman.

Mike Paull received his private pilot license in 1979 and soon earned his commercial, multi-engine, and flight instructor certificates. He has logged in excess of 3500 hours and flies a Beech Bonanza that is based near his retirement home in Chico, California.

Mike’s clear writing style and compelling stories about the individuals he came to know and befriend is a must read for pilots and non-pilots alike. The Foreword of the book is written by Walter Boyne, an author, historian, and former director of the National Air and Space Museum. Mr. Boyne was inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame in 2007.

After the presentation, Mike will be available to sell and autograph his book.
